Media Advisory: Lebanon Valley College Students to Stand Against Racism

ANNVILLE, PA (11/16/2016)(readMedia)-- In response to two reported instances of racist language on campus, Lebanon Valley College students have organized a walk-out and march for Wednesday, Nov. 16. The event is intended as a strong statement against hatred and an assertion of inclusivity and acceptance. Participants are asked to wear all black in solidarity. The students have adopted the hashtag #lvc4change as a way to keep the conversation against discrimination going on social media.

Participants will gather near the Allan W. Mund College Center and begin marching at noon. Following the march, there will be an opportunity for students and other campus community members to share their experiences, perspectives, and ideas for moving ahead together. The faculty, staff, and administration have endorsed the event as a critical learning moment and an opportunity for the community to declare that Lebanon Valley College is a welcoming place for all.
