WHAT: Commissioner of the NYS Division of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR), Deborah VanAmerongen, and a team of about 30 staff volunteers will install sheet rock and insulation tomorrow at the largest multi-family building ever constructed by Habitat for Humanity worldwide.
The build, sponsored by Habitat for Humanity - New York City, will celebrate the state's commitment to affordable housing and community revitalization. This development will transform a long-dormant block of Atlantic Avenue and Eastern Parkway in Ocean Hill-Brownsville, Brooklyn and generate almost $34.5 million in economic stimulus.
WHO: Commissioner VanAmerongen will work with Habitat-NYC family partner and future resident, Alecia Robinson, an administrative coordinator with an employment agency who currently pays half her salary in rent for the Brooklyn apartment she shares with her six-year-old son.

WHERE: 24 Sherlock Place, Ocean Hill-Brownsville, Brooklyn (between Atlantic Avenue and Herkimer Street, Enter on Sherlock Place). The site is convenient to the A,C, L, J, Z trains, as well as LIRR. Please wear sturdy shoes and dress accordingly.
