Media Advisory: State Parks to Celebrate Restoration of Staatsburg School
First LEED-Eligible Building in NYS Park System
ALBANY, NY (01/26/2010)(readMedia)-- The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation will celebrate restoration of the historic Staatsburg School in Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park, made possible by a $3 million private gift from Dr. Lucy Rockefeller Waletzky, Chair of the State Council of Parks. The restored building, with energy efficient features expected to win certification through the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Program, serves as public space and State Parks regional offices.
