Morahan, Rivera to Receive OMH's Lehmann Award for Distinguished Service at June 3rd Celebration of Children's Mental Health Research

ALBANY, NY (06/02/2008)(readMedia)-- The New York State Office of Mental Health’s (OMH) ongoing research into the diseases and conditions which affect the brain continues to increase the knowledge base around, and helps to identify promising practices for, the treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation of severe and persistent mental illnesses. At a celebration of advances in children’s mental health research to be held June 3rd, OMH Commissioner Michael F. Hogan, PhD, will present Assemblyman Peter Rivera and Senator Thomas Morahan with the Heinz E. Lehmann, M.D. Award for Distinguished Service to Research. Dr. Lloyd Sederer, OMH Chief Medical Officer, will give a brief explanation of OMH’s Research Program, and scientists from OMH’s two research institutes will briefly review their work in children’s mental health research.

Brief overview of OMH research program, and work in children’s mental health research.
