ALBANY, NY (04/24/2013)(readMedia)-- New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) Commissioner Joan McDonald will be joined by Federal Highway Administrator Victor Mendez and state and local officials on Thursday, April 25 at 11 a.m. on Ocean Parkway in the Town of Oyster Bay for an announcement about the highway reconstruction project there. The event will be held approximately three miles east of the Jones Beach Traffic Circle.

WHERE: Ocean Parkway, about three miles east of the Jones Beach Traffic Circle.

Directions:

• Take Southern State Parkway to Wantagh State Parkway (WSP), Exit 27 South. Continue south on WSP to the end at the Jones Beach State Park Water Tower/Traffic Circle.

• At the circle, take Ocean Parkway east and continue for approximately three miles to the NYSDOT Ocean Parkway construction zone.

• Slow down and continue driving straight as NYSDOT workers guide you into the highway work zone area; Do not take the detour for Ocean Parkway to the left.

• Continue about two miles inside the construction zone to the event site near Gilgo Beach. Please drive cautiously in this active construction area and park vehicles at the event site as directed by NYSDOT workers.
