GETTYSBURG, PA (04/09/2012)(readMedia)-- Megan Hilands, of Johnstown, a Senior at Gettysburg College presented a senior recital on March 23 in Gettysburg College's Paul Recital Hall located in Schmucker Hall on the Gettysburg College campus. Hiland's program included Beethoven's Sonata no. 7 in c minor for Violin and Piano (Op. 30, no. 2), a classical work written during the composer's early period. She then performed Chausson's Poème (Op. 25), a beautiful tone poem based Turgenev's short story "Song of Triumphant Love" and dedicated to violinist Eugene Ysaÿe. She concluded the recital with Wieniawski's Polonaise Brillante no. 2 in A major (op. 2), an exciting and flamboyant romantic showpiece.
