Melanie R. Ragon of Franklin Selected To Receive Faraday Physics Scholarship for 2011-2012

MILLERSVILLE, PA (05/19/2011)(readMedia)-- Melanie R. Ragon of Franklin, Pa. has been chosen to receive the Faraday Physics Scholarship for the 2011-2012 academic year. The scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen who display excellent academic merit.

Ragon will attend Millersville University this fall, majoring in physics. She completed her college preparatory program at Oil City High School, completing several honors and advanced placement (AP) courses. Ragon has participated in her high school's marching band, pep band and vocal ensembles for all four years of high school. She has also lettered in varsity soccer and is a member of the National Honor Society.

The Faraday Physics Scholarship is awarded in the amount of $317, to be split evenly between the student's fall and spring semesters. The award is renewable for up to two additional semesters if the student has maintained their academic standing and is pursuing a major in physics.
