Melissa Gutkind of Long Valley Inducted into Phi Beta Kappa
CHESTERTOWN, MD (03/20/2014)(readMedia)-- Washington College is pleased to announce the recent induction of Melissa Gutkind '14 of Long Valley, NJ, into Phi Beta Kappa. Phi Beta Kappa is the oldest and most elite honor society in the United States. The society serves to recognize the power of a liberal arts education by acknowledging students that have achieved high levels of intellectual discipline and achievement.
Gutkind is majoring in human development with a certification in elementary education. On campus, she is a member of the club field hockey team and has maintained a number of positions within the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority.
Founded in 1782 under the patronage of George Washington, Washington College is a private, independent college of liberal arts and sciences located in colonial Chestertown on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
