Melissa Stutzbach Inducted into Ithaca College Honor Society

ITHACA, NY (03/02/2012)(readMedia)-- Ithaca College student Melissa Stutzbach a resident of Pitman, was inducted into the Ithaca College Chapter of Alpha Eta National Allied Health Honor Society in February. Stutzbach is currently an undergraduate studying occupational therapy at Ithaca College's School of Health Sciences and Human Performance.

Founded in 1975 at the University of Florida, this national scholastic honor society for the allied health professions was formed to promote and recognize significant scholarship in, leadership in, and contributions to the field. For Ithaca College students to be considered, they must demonstrate a capacity for leadership and achievement in their chosen field, as well as a nomination by a faculty member in their program.

Stutzbach founded and is the current president of the volunteer organization, Project Generations, an Ithaca College organization which offers visiting services to older adults in the area. She was inducted into the occupational therapy honor society Phi Theta Epsilon in spring of 2011 and currently serves on the continuing education committee.

Additionally, Stutzbach volunteers weekly with a woman with Parkinson's disease to facilitate independence and improve quality of life. She has dedicated over 100 hours of service to this individual over her time at Ithaca College
