DELMAR, NY (02/23/2009)(readMedia)-- The Mendelssohn Club of Albany will perform a special 100th anniversary concert on Sunday, March 8 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Delmar, New York.
The 70-voice male chorus - the longest continuously performing arts group in the Capital Region - will perform an hour-long program in recognition of both the club's and St. Stephen's 100th anniversaries. The concert program will consist of some favorite musical selections from the club's extensive library of over 1,000 arrangements.
"We are very excited about the opportunity to participate in this joint anniversary celebration," said Mendelssohn Club president Michael Palumbo. "This year represents a major milestone for both organizations, and we hope that members of St. Stephen's, Mendelssohn Club supporters, and the broader community will join us in support of two very worthy institutions."
There is no charge to attend the performance, but a free-will offering will be taken during the concert. Proceeds from the offering will be used to support continued community outreach efforts by both the club and St. Stephen's. For additional information about concert details, please contact Debi Wilcox at the church office (518-439-3265) or Doug Lutzy (518-326-2319).
