Metaliteracy Empowered Learner

The Empowered Learner Achievement, which is one of four major badges in the Metaliteracy Badging System, is awarded to a self-aware and self-directed learner who has mastered empowering metacognitive and critical thinking competencies and has considered his or her role as a teacher.

Recipients of this honor demonstrate the ability to:

--Re-evaluate needs and next steps throughout the process;

--Use self reflection to assess one's own learning and knowledge of the learning process;

--Value persistence, adaptability, and flexibility;

--Recognize that learning is a process and that reflecting on errors or mistakes leads to new insights and discoveries; and

--Demonstrate self empowerment through interaction and the presentation of ideas; gain the ability to see what is transferable, translatable, and teachable.
