Michael Kuethe of Severna Park Completes Comegys Bight Fellowship

CHESTERTOWN, MD (10/23/2012)(readMedia)--  Washington College is pleased to announce that Michael Kuethe '13 of Severna Park, MD has completed his work as a Comegys Bight Fellow. Presented by the College's C.V. Starr Center for the Study of the American Experience, the Comegys Bight Fellowship Program offers stipends to support summer internships at some of the nation's leading historical and cultural institutions. These paid internships annually provide a handful of students with high-level research experience on topics related to American history pre-1900.

Over the summer, Kuethe worked at the Maryland Historical Society. There, he and another fellow wrote a script for an audio tour that will be implemented in the Historical Society's War of 1812 exhibit. Kuethe presented his work at a special program on campus on October 15th.

Kuethe is majoring in History, and intends to graduate with minors in English and anthropology. He is president of the Anthropology Club and is active in Phi Alpha Theta, a national history honors society. Kuethe is also a recipient of the Starr Center's Quill and Compass Scholarship. He graduated from Severn School.
