Milton native received two awards from Marquette University
MILWAUKEE, WI (07/19/2012)(readMedia)-- Jeffrey Simard, son of Chris and Carol Simard, was honored with the Gold Medal Award from Marquette University's Helen Way Klingler College of Arts and Sciences. Simard graduated in May with a bachelor of arts in political science.
The Gold Medal Award is given to the graduating senior or seniors with the highest cumulative grade point average. Of the many awards recognizing academic achievement by students in the Klingler College of Arts and Sciences, none speaks so clearly of the recipient's intelligence, commitment to studies, academic discipline and extraordinary passion to learn.
Jeffrey Simard also received the Virgil C. Blum, S.J., in Political Science Award from Marquette University's Department of Political Science. The Virgil C. Blum, S.J., in Political Science Award is given for outstanding academic achievement. The student receives a book certificate, a department plaque, a name certificate and a congratulatory letter.
While at Marquette, Simard was a member of the Honors Program, the Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society and an alumnus of the Les Aspin Center for Government. Simard plans to attend law school at the University of Minnesota.
