Minneapolis native receives photo contest award

WALLA WALLA, WA (02/10/2012)(readMedia)-- Jackson Bellaimey of Minneapolis recently won a first place award in the Whitman College 2011 Off-Campus Studies Digital Image Contest. His photo, entitled "La Cumbre," was taken during his time abroad in Argentina.

The Whitman College Off-Campus Studies Office sponsors an annual image competition to allow returning students to share a piece of their travels with the greater campus community. Winners of the contest receive a gift certificate to the college bookstore.

Bellaimey, the son of Lynnell Mickelson and John Bellaimey, is a 2008 graduate of Southwest High School. He is currently a senior Spanish and race and ethnic studies major at Whitman.
