Minnetonka Native Matt Rowley Chosen for All-American Squad

SAINT PAUL, MN (06/14/2012)(readMedia)-- Bethel University junior Matt Rowley from Minnetonka, Minn., was honored with being chosen for the prestigious All-American squad. The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) selected him for his incredible 2012 season. An All-Midwest Region First Team member, Rowley was announced to the Third Team nationwide. Rowley was just one of three Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) players to be chosen to the All-American list.

Rowley finished the season with a .427 batting average, .494 on-base percentage, .636 slugging percentage, 61 hits, 91 total bases, and 36 RBI. From the pitching rubber Rowley threw 80 innings, allowing just 22 earned runs (2.47 ERA), 79 hits, and 13 walks. In addition, Rowley struck out 61 batters and held opponents to a .251 average.
