Monica Schmidt Receives a Linnaean Award From Gettysburg College

GETTYSBURG, PA (11/01/2010)(readMedia)--  Monica Schmidt, a Gettysburg College senior from Morris Plains, NJ, has been awarded a 2010 Linnaean Award. Winners are chosen by peers based on the recipients' efforts to improve the campus community, excellence in academic endeavors, and overall achievements during their college careers.

Schmidt is majoring in chemistry. On campus, she serves as vice president of Skeptical Chemists, vice president of Panhellenic Council, and a student facilitator for the Gettysburg Recreational Activities Board (GRAB). She is also a member of Biosphere, the Pre-Health Club, and Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Her service activities include volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House, as well as with Big Brothers Big Sisters and the student conduct review board.
