SUMMERDALE, PA (02/23/2012)(readMedia)-- Marissa Monteiro, Central Penn College legal studies student of Belleville, N.J., was selected by the Central Penn College Athletics Department as the Player of the Week on February 19. She is a power forward for the Lady Knights basketball team and a freshman at the college. She currently possesses a 3.7 grade point average. Monteiro is working toward receiving an associate degree in paralegal and a bachelor's degree in legal studies. Though she has only been a member of the basketball team for a short period of time, Monteiro has noticed changes in her performance.
"I have improved since my first couple of times on the court," says Monteiro. "It is difficult to adjust to playing college basketball; it's a lot different than high school."
