MORRISTOWN, NJ (02/12/2013)(readMedia)-- The College of Saint Elizabeth (CSE), 2 Convent Road, Morristown, N.J., is pleased to announce the appointment of Patricia A. O'Keefe, Morristown, N.J., to the board of trustees.
Patricia A. O'Keefe, , R.N., Ph.D.(c), M.S.N., NE-BC, received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, Pa., in 1981. She continued her education at Seton Hall University where she received a Master of Science in Nursing Administration and where she is presently a Doctoral candidate in Philosophy.
Currently, she is the Chief Nursing Officer, Morristown Memorial Hospital/Atlantic Health, Morristown, N.J., where she began her career in 1987 as administrative director of F2 Orthopedic/Surgical Unit. Prior to her current position, she served as administrative director, Intensive Care Unit and as the director, Inpatient Surgical Services. From 2001 to 2005, she was as an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University. She serves on the Nursing Benchmarking Task Force and Patient Care Executive Committees of the New Jersey Hospital Association. She is also on the Board of Directors of NJ Sharing Network Advisory Board, Morris County Chamber of Commerce, Morris County Salvation Army, and the McKesson National Nursing Advisory Council. In the past, she has served on the Board of the New Jersey Organization of Nurse Executives, Protestant Chaplaincy Board of Directors and the Deidre O'Brien Child Advocacy Center. She authored numerous articles for professional publications and presentations and received several awards including the 1997 New Jersey League of Nursing Administrator Award, the 2005-06 Nurse Executive of the Year-ONE/NJ, the 2009 UMDNJ Dean's Award for Advancing the Profession of Nursing, and the 2010 Nursing Spectrum Excellence Award for Advancing the Profession of Nursing.
