Mount Ida College Professor from Grafton Receives International Honor

NEWTON, MA (11/20/2012)(readMedia)-- Mount Ida College's School of Arts and Sciences is pleased to announce that Dr. Justin Compton, Assistant Professor of Natural Sciences and Grafton resident, has received international recognition as a Certified Wildlife Biologist (CWB). The Wildlife Society, an international non-profit scientific and educational association dedicated to excellence in wildlife, granted the full certification to Professor Compton.

For more than 10 years, Compton worked toward this prestigious certificate. He participated in a selective, peer-review evaluation, which was defined by his education, experience and ethics. Through a thorough examination from the Society's Certification Review Board, Compton was distinguished as an ethical practitioner with expertise in wildlife and its habitats.

Professor Compton stated, "My interest in wildlife has changed over the years as I have grown. When I was younger, it was all about being in the field and going to wild places, now it's about being interdisciplinary. I enjoy understanding how my work can play a role in the communities in which I live."
