NEW PALTZ, NY (08/01/2013)(readMedia)-- Visitors to the Ulster County Fair will get a chance to find out what it's like to change the tire on a NASCAR racer if they stop by the New York Army National Guard recruiting tent at the fair.

The Army National Guard recruiting station will feature a NASCAR tire-changing simulator. Visitors can replicate the experience of changing the tires on the car driver by Dale Earnhardt Jr. Earnhardt's car is sponsored by the National Guard.

Reporters looking for a different angle on their fair coverage are invited to stop by the Army National Guard recruiting display at the fair to check out the simulator and also talk to the Guard recruiters.

The New York Army National Guard, with a membership of about 10,500 Soldiers, is currently at 100 percent strength. National Guard Recruiters, though, are continually seeking new Soldiers to fill job education opportunities available in units across the state. Throughout the summer months New York Army National Guard recruiters will be manning booths at county fairs to let the public and potential Soldiers know more about the force.
