NEMCC names 576 to Fall 2025 Vice President's List

Five hundred and seventy-six (576) Northeast Mississippi Community College students achieved a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5-3.9 on a 4.0 scale for the 2025 Fall semester and, as a result, have been named to the college's distinguished Vice President's List.

Included in the list are representatives from 98 different cities, towns and communities across the United States of America: 560 Vice President's List scholars are from Mississippi, nine hail from Tennessee, three are from Alabama and one is from Arkansas, Arizona, Georgia and Kentucky, respectively. Just over 75-percent of students selected for the 2025 Fall Vice President's List (435) came from the college's five-county service area of Alcorn, Prentiss, Tippah, Tishomingo and Union counties, while 141 were from outside the service area.

Overall, 984 individuals were either named to the President's List or the Vice President's List at Northeast for the 2025 Fall semester.

Seven hundred and forty-seven (747) are from the Magnolia State, 21 live in Tennessee, and seven are from Alabama, two were from Kentucky while Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, and Texas all had a representative on the honor rolls. One Presidential scholar calls Sweden home.

Of the 984 students making either the President's or Vice President's lists at Northeast, 750 reside within the college's five-county service area of Alcorn, Prentiss, Tippah, Tishomingo and Union counties. Prentiss County led the way with 202 students from the five-county service area while Alcorn County brought in 192 individuals. Tippah, Tishomingo and Union were close to each other with 125, 120 and 111 students on either the President's or Vice President's lists.

Of the 82 counties in Mississippi, 36 of them were represented on either the 2025 Fall President's or Vice President's List at Northeast.

Compared to Fall 2024, Northeast saw approximately 200 more students make the President or Vice President's List (984 to 789) as in the previous year.

In total, Northeast's sphere of influence touched 120 different cities, towns and communities across the United States of America and Sweden, with scholars hailing from 10 different states and/or countries.
