WHITESTONE, N.Y. (05/09/2013)(readMedia)-- Members of the New York Army National Guard's 27th Finance Company say goodbye to friends and family at a mobilization ceremony here on Friday, May 10 as the Soldiers prepare to leave for a deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

BACKGROUND

27th Financial Management Company:

The 27th Financial Management Company will provide financial management support to Military personnel and multi-national forces within the Theatre of Operation. The unit is also trained, educated and ready to conduct split-based operations as required by their higher command.

This marks the 27th Financial Management Company's second deployment to Southwest Asia in support of overseas contingency operations. The unit returned home after a yearlong deployment in September of 2009.

The unit will train at Fort Dix prior to deployment overseas and is expected to return back home in one year.
