RENSSELAER, NY (04/17/2017) (readMedia)-- The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) has been awarded a 2017 Top Workplaces honor by the Albany Times Union.
"There has never been a more exciting time to participate in the energy industry, and the NYISO is fortunate to have a team of dedicated, highly-skilled people who have a passion for what they do," said President and CEO Brad Jones. "We're excited to have been selected for this award."
The selection was based on an independent survey of employees measuring qualities such as company leadership, execution, ethics and integrity, organizational alignment, career opportunities and benefits.
The employee feedback survey was administered by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a research firm specializing
in workplace improvement and organizational health.
The NYISO earned special recognition as a workplace where employees feel like their jobs are part of something meaningful. "I like having the opportunity to reinvent my career over time. I have been given
many opportunities and it's very rewarding as a technical/geeky person," noted one employee.
Established in 1999, the NYISO employs experts in various fields from engineering, economics and system planning to legal, finance, IT and human resources. The NYISO is an independent, non-profit corporation responsible for overseeing New York's wholesale electricity markets and the statewide electric system, including thousands of miles of high-voltage transmission lines and the dispatch of hundreds of electric
power generators.
As one of the largest employers in New York State's Capital Region with over 500 employees, the NYISO currently has open positions in several areas. Click here to view current postings.
