NYPD SOAR Endorses Zeldin

PATCHOGUE, NY (09/10/2008)(readMedia)-- Congressional Candidate Lee Zeldin, the Republican and Conservative Party candidate for New York's First Congressional District, today announced that he proudly accepted the endorsement of the New York Police Department's Superior Officers Association Retired (SOAR).

In recognition of the endorsement, Zeldin issued the following statement:

Today, I'm honored to receive yet another key law enforcement endorsement, an event that takes on additional meaning during a week where we must all remember the sacrifices of the brave men and women who protect us at home-particularly those who wore NYPD uniforms that fateful day seven years ago.

As a lawyer, I hold the utmost respect for the law, and will proudly respect the hard work and dedication of all those who stand on the front line of law enforcement.

I'm told that my military service played a major role in securing this endorsement. There will be a couple veterans on the Republican line come Election Day, and I can assure you that voting for experienced leaders like John McCain and me will send two friends of law enforcement down to Washington.
