Invite Media to Attend 5th Annual Canal Clean Sweep Kick Off
ALBANY, NY (04/14/2010)(readMedia)-- The New York State Canal Corporation, together with Parks & Trails New York, the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC), and the New York State Consumer Protection Board (CPB), will hold a press conference on Friday, April 16 at 11:00 a.m. in the parking lot beside Aqua Vino Restaurant on the Erie Canal in Utica, Oneida County (directions below) to kick-off the 5th Annual Canal Clean Sweep.
The press conference will be held in conjunction with the CPB's Shredding Day event, one of the nearly 100 events scheduled to take place throughout the weekend in celebration of Earth Day and in preparation for the upcoming navigation season.
State and local officials will join Canal Corporation Director Carmella R. Mantello, EFC President Matthew Driscoll, the CPB Chairperson and Executive Director Mindy A. Bockstein, and officials from Parks and Trails New York, as well as event organizers.

Directions:
Take Interchange 31 of the NYS Thruway. Proceed through toll booth and continue straight to downtown crossing over the bridge. At the end of the ramp, take a right onto Genesee Street. Take a right just past the bridge over the Erie Canal. Stay to the right and Harbor Lock Road runs into Aqua Vino's parking lot.
