Schuppenhauer Joins Other State Presidents of The Arc at White House's "Community Leaders Briefing"

DELMAR, NY (01/19/2012)(readMedia)-- NYSARC, Inc. President and Canandaigua-native John A. Schuppenhauer, Esq. has been invited by the Obama administration to attend a special White House meeting, "Community Leaders Briefing," on Friday, February 10th. At the briefing, Schuppenhauer will join other State Presidents and leaders of The Arc, the largest national community-based organization advocating for and serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. NYSARC, Inc. is the New York State Chapter of The Arc.

The briefing is a unique opportunity to learn from federal agency and White House staff about how policy in Washington affects people with disabilities. "In difficult financial times like these, the opportunity for the non-profit community to engage in meaningful dialogue with the federal government is rare and warmly welcomed," Schuppenhauer remarked. "I am honored that the administration has extended this invitation and look forward with great anticipation to the meeting."

Joining President Schuppenhauer from NYSARC will be Saundra Gumerove, Esq., Chairperson of NYSARC's Governmental Affairs Committee, and Ben Golden, Associate Executive Director for Governmental Affairs.
