DELMAR, NY (12/16/2010)(readMedia)-- Filming began at the NYSARC building in Delmar on Wednesday for the WMHT production, Our Town: Bethlehem. The Our Town series is a video scrapbook of the people, places, and happenings of towns across the Capital Region and beyond. It is a unique documentary shot through the eyes and camera lenses of the people who live in the towns.
NYSARC, Inc., the largest not-for-profit organization of its kind in the nation supporting individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities and their families, is hosting members from the community for their individual interviews on Wednesday, December 15 and Thursday, December 16 at its State Office.
Marc Brandt, Executive Director of NYSARC, is pleased to be involved in the documentary shoot, "It is a pleasure to open our doors to the members of this fine community. Their stories capture the personality and history of this area, which NYSARC has called home since 1983. We are excited to see the final product and hope that it captures everything that we know and love." Brandt himself will be interviewed on Wednesday to discuss NYSARC, Inc. and the history of the historic Adams House, NYSARC's home in Delmar.
More than 50 members of the Bethlehem community will come to the NYSARC building to share their stories, including a 5th grade class and a troop of girl scouts. Story ideas include the Bethlehem Senior Chorus, the Delmar Community Orchestra, the Bethlehem Historical Association, the Elsmere Neighborhood, Pine Hollow Arboretum, and more.
Filming will wrap up in the evening hours on Thursday and the WMHT crew hopes that the documentary will air in March, 2011. For more information about Our Town: Bethlehem, please visit http://www.wmht.org.
