NYSDOT Receives "Thanks for Making a Difference" Award

ALBANY, NY (03/01/2012)(readMedia)-- The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) will receive a "Thanks for Making a Difference Award" from Cobleskill Partnership, Inc. for reconstructing the State Route 7 bridge over the Canadian Pacific Railroad in the village of Cobleskill, Schoharie County.

The award presentation will take place at 5 p.m. on March 2 at Grapevine Farms, 2373 State Route 7 in Cobleskill.

"It is an honor to be recognized by the Cobleskill Partnership for our State Route 7 Bridge project," said Commissioner McDonald. "At NYSDOT, we strive to provide communities with safe infrastructure that blends in with the local character. This bridge does that while helping to enhance the economic vitality of Cobleskill's downtown."

The project, originally scheduled for completion in the spring of 2012, was completed six months ahead of schedule on October 25, 2011. The work was performed in just 12 weeks to minimize inconvenience to the community and traveling public. The $6.3 million project completely replaced the former Route 7 bridge and upgraded its drainage.

The Cobleskill Partnership is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting economic vitality in the downtown area.
