NY's Environmental Watchdog Congratulates Gov-Elect Cuomo, AG-to-Be Schneiderman & Comptroller Dinapoli

ALBANY, NY (11/03/2010)(readMedia)-- Environmental Advocates of New York congratulates Governor-elect Andrew Cuomo on his victory in the gubernatorial race. The green watchdog group also extends congratulations to New York's next Attorney General, Eric Schneiderman, and to Comptroller Tom DiNapoli on his reelection.

Environmental Advocates looks forward to working with these state leaders over the next four years to develop workable solutions to New York's most pressing environmental challenges, including the need for strong regulations to guide hydraulic fracturing for natural gas and reducing climate-altering pollution.

"Using his record as Attorney General and the recently released 'Cleaner, Greener NY' environmental agenda as a guide, we expect Andrew Cuomo to be a responsible steward of New York's air, land and water. And for their part, Eric Schneiderman and Tom DiNapoli have longstanding environmental credentials," said Robert Moore, executive director of Environmental Advocates of New York. "We are eager to work with all of New York's leaders to come up with a plan to fix our biggest environmental challenge-rebuilding the state's decimated environmental agencies and restoring environmental funding."
