ST. LOUIS, MO (10/19/2012)(readMedia)-- Missouri Baptist University recognizes bowler Nathan Byrd as the Spartan Athlete of the Week after his impressive play at the Mid-States Classic the past weekend.
Byrd bowled his way to a 196 average, with his best game being a 220. He ended up in 11th place at the Tier 1 event.
Byrd is a junior from Washington, Mo., who is majoring in sport management.
MBU is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and has received the distinction of being an NAIA Champions of Character institution for the past 10 years. The Spartans compete in the American Midwest Conference.
