National Guard Civil Support Team to Conduct Training Exercise at Rivers Casino "The Landing Hotel" on June 11

Members of the New York National Guard’s 24th Civil Support Team conduct an exercise at Fort Hamilton in New York City.

SCHENECTADY, NEW YORK (06/10/2026) (readMedia)-- The New York National Guard's 2nd Civil Support Team (CST) will be conducting a routine training exercise at The Landing Hotel, at 21 Rush Street on Thursday, June 11, 2026.

The training will take place in the hotel's parking lot 1A from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The public will see specialized military vehicles and personnel wearing hazardous materials protective gear.

Traffic around, and into and out of the hotel will not be impeded during the exercise. The hotel will be open.

The 2nd Civil Support Team consists of 21 New York National Guardsmen who are trained to identify suspected chemical, biological, or radiological weapons or materials in support of local emergency responded.

The personnel being training will be wearing specialized protective gear during the exercise.

Approximately 30 people will be on site during the exercise.

The 2nd Civil Support Team is based at Stratton Air National Guard Base in Scotia and is responsible for responding to incidents across New York State and the region.

This is the second public exercise conducted in the Mohawk Valley this week by the 2nd Civil Support Team.

An earlier training exercise took place at Amsterdam's Shuttleworth Park on June 9.
