ROCHESTER, NY (02/22/2011)(readMedia)-- Poet, translator, anthology editor, and essayist Piotr Sommer will be conducting a poetry reading at Nazareth College on Wednesday, March 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the College's Shults Center Forum. This special event will involve a Q&A regarding poetry, translation, editing and international journal. There will be copies of Continued, Sommer's recently published book of poems translated into English, available that evening for a book signing with the author. Sommer, of Warsaw, Poland has published eleven poetry collections, two books essays and several anthologies in Polish. He regularly gives lectures at American universities and has gained various awards. Sommer can translate from British, Irish and American literature. His anthology of work by the American poet Frank O'Hara is one of his most valued translations.
The event is sponsored by the Office of the President, the English Department and the Center for International Education at Nazareth College.
