New Development Project in King of Prussia to Impact Traffic at Turnpike Toll Plaza
Ramp from I-76 eastbound to North Gulph Road to close for two weeks on Sunday
KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (04/29/2011)(readMedia)-- The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists traveling the Turnpike mainline (I-76/276) to stay alert for slow-moving or stopped traffic when exiting the system at the Valley Forge Interchange (Exit #326) starting May 1.
Part of the ongoing offsite improvements for The Villages at Valley Forge project, the contractor for the project, Allan A. Myers, will be closing the ramp from I-76 eastbound to westbound North Gulph Road and detouring traffic from May 1 – 14. The Villages at Valley Forge is located on North Gulph Road between Warner Road and Goddard Blvd.
Motorists exiting the toll plaza to travel westbound on North Gulph Road will follow a PennDOT approved detour route:
- Take the next exit on I-76 EB – 422 WB/Swedesford Road/202 SB.
- Follow the signs for 422 WB/Swedesford Road and take the Swedesford Road exit.
- At the stoplight proceed straight onto Guthrie Road.
- The detour will end at the Guthrie/North Gulph Road intersection.
This detour is the final stage in the total reconstruction of the exit ramps between I-76 EB and North Gulph Road. The scheduled activities are weather dependent and may be postponed until the following day in the event of rain.
