DES MOINES, IA (08/08/2024) (readMedia)-- "Finnegan," the crossbred boar of Bryan and Tricia Britt of Monticello, set a new State Fair record, tipping the scales at 1,420 pounds to claim the Biggest Boar title Thursday, August 8.
The prior State Fair record was 1,335 pounds.
Reserve Champion honors were claimed by the boar shown by Mya Boyle of Danbury, which weighed in at 1,114 pounds.
Finnegan is described as "a big eater with a big attitude," whose favorite treat is gummy bear candies.
