New Study Shows New York Wins the Triple Crown with Solar Power
ALBANY, NY (02/01/2012)(readMedia)-- In response to the release of a new study by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority on the economics of a major increase in solar power in New York State, Environmental Advocates of New York released the following statement attributable to Ross Gould, Air & Energy Program Director:
"New York State wins the policy 'triple crown' by making a big commitment to solar power. An aggressive goal for siting solar power would reduce fossil fuel consumption by the electricity sector and reduce our dependence on oil, reduce greenhouse gases – which would be the equivalent of taking 250,000 cars off the road – and create approximately 2,300 new good jobs. This report shows New York State should move quickly and advance an aggressive investment in solar power by the end of this Legislative session."
