STEWART AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, NEWBURGH, NY (02/16/2017) (readMedia)-- The New York Air National Guard's 105th Airlift Wing will host 390 athletes and coaches from across the state for the Special Olympics 2017 State Winter Games Floor Hockey competition Saturday, Feb. 18 from 10 a.m. till approximately 3:30 p.m.
More than 300 volunteers, fans and military members are expected to attend to support the athletes during the games.
WHO: Members and retired members of the 105th Airlift Wing, Special Olympics athletes and local community members.
WHAT: The Special Olympics Floor Hockey event is one of five competitions that make up the Special OIympics State Winter Games. These games are one of three annual state games and one of more than 4,000 total Special Olympics competitive experiences held each year throughout New York.
WHEN: Members of the press may attend between the hours of 10:30 and 3:30

More than 1,000 athletes and coaches from across the state will participate in the 2016 State Winter Games, featuring competitions in Alpine Skiing, Cross- Country Skiing, Figure Skating, Floor Hockey and Snowshoe. The State Winter Games are one of three annual state games and one of more than 4,000 total competitive experiences held each year throughout New York. All events are free and open to the public.
