Justin Rios of Brooklyn, N.Y. is promoted to 2nd Lieutenant in the New York Army National Guard, Aug. 16, 2014.

LATHAM, NY (08/22/2014)(readMedia)-- New York Army National Guard Second Lieutenant Justin B. Rios of Brooklyn, N.Y. graduated from Officer Candidate School on August 16. 

He was sworn in as a 2nd Lt. by Maj. Gen. Patrick Murphy, the Adjutant General during a ceremony at Camp Smith, Peekskill, N.Y.

His new rank was pinned on by his sisters Argentina Rios and Christine Soto.

Rios has been a member of the National Guard since 2012 and will serve as a Transportation Officer assigned to the 719th Transportation Company, Manhattan, N.Y.
