BUFFALO, NY (10/22/2007)(readMedia)-- One week after The Innocence Project released a report showing New York State the worst in the nation when it comes to DNA-based exonerations of people wrongfully convicted of murder during this decade, Buffalo State will host a forum featuring Jeffrey Deskovic, exonerated after 16 years in prison for a Peekskill murder he did not commit. Other speakers include John Walker, who spent years in prison for a crime he did not commit and the current chairman of Buffalo Local Action Committee, Jim Michalek, WNY coordinator for New Yorkers Against the Death Penalty, and Nathan Hare, a longtime Buffalo activist and current Executive Director of the Community Action Organization of Erie County.
