New York Sire Stakes Night of Champions Pre-Race Media Availability

ALBANY, NY (09/10/2008)(readMedia)-- The Agriculture & New York State Horse Breeding Development Fund today announced its $1.4 Million New York Sire Stakes Night of Champions will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Yonkers Raceway. A pre-race reception will be held from 5pm-6:30pm in the Good Time Room and is open to the media. Post Time is 6:50pm.

Interviews are available with industry officials and top breeders, owners, drivers & trainers leading up to the event.

Joseph A. Faraldo: a 20 year member of the US Trotting Association Board and a former Chairman. Mr. Faraldo has been President and CEO of the Standardbred Owner's Association of New York since 1980. Joe was instrumental in securing the passage of slot legislation, helping to keep racing viable in New York.

Peter Goold: as Executive Director of the Agriculture & New York State Horse Breeding Development Fund, Mr. Goold administers the New York Sire Stakes racing program and carries out the Fund's mission of promoting the breeding of Standardbred horses within New York State.

Mike Kimelman: a third generation horseman and President of Blue Chip Farms. Mr. Kimelman runs one of the largest breeding farms in New York State. A native New Yorker, Mike is a staunch supporter of racing in NYS with a wealth of industry knowledge.

John D. Sabini: Chairman of the New York State Racing and Wagering Board since August 11, 2008 and former State Senator. Mr. Sabini also serves on the Agriculture and New York State Horse Breeding and Development Fund as well as many other equine-related boards.
