New York State Parks Presents Awards; Waterford Resident Honored
ALBANY, NY (12/27/2007)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Commissioner Carol Ash presented the agency’s annual achievement awards at a ceremony held at Saratoga Spa State Park earlier this month.
Among the awardees was Debra Keefer. Ms. Keefer was given a Special Achievement Award for her contributions to the agency’s Contract Unit.
“In addition to her duties as a Budget Analyst, Debra stepped in to fill a void in the Contract Unit at a time when her expertise was very much needed. For nearly a year, Debra worked simultaneously in two different units, exceeding expectations and ensuring that the agency’s contract management system—a critical function of the agency—ran smoothly. Her dedication, hard work and positive attitude make her a valuable member of the Park’s team,” Ash said.
Ms. Keefer began her career at State Parks as a stenographer in 1987. She has been promoted through a series of positions and is currently a senior budgeting analyst and works out of the State Parks central office in Albany.
Ms. Keefer and her family reside in Waterford, New York.
