TROY, NY (09/28/2010)(readMedia)-- The New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, the state's largest and nation's oldest 2nd Amendment advocacy organization, announces the endorsement of Scott Diamond for State Assembly in District 16.
"Scott Diamond believes in the 2nd Amendment and will defend the civil rights of all New Yorkers," said Thomas H. King, President of NYSRPA.
By contrast, his opponent incumbent Assemblywoman Michele Schimel has shown nothing but contempt for our civil rights and demonstrated it repeatedly on the floor of the Assembly. Lacking any facts to back up her positions, Schimel has relied upon outright lies about her legislation and ad-hominem attacks upon her opponents while attempting to push an unpopular agenda through the state legislature.
"The choice for gun owners in Assembly District 16 is very clear," King said. "Scott Diamond believes people have the right to possess firearms for self-defense. Michele Schimel does not. NYSRPA encourages all gun owners to support Scott Diamond for State Assembly on November 2."
