ST. LOUIS, MO (11/21/2012)(readMedia)-- Dr. Terry Chrisope, professor of Bible and history at Missouri Baptist University, had another book published this month entitled "Confessing Jesus as Lord" with a Foreword by John MacArthur.
In the book, published by Christian Focus Publications of Scotland, Chrisope examines the role of the confession "Jesus is Lord" in the New Testament in order to explore the meaning and implications of this confession and to affirm its use for today.
The book's theme has been on Chrisope's heart for years. His master's thesis, which was published in 1982, addressed the topic. He also used the theme to write lessons for an adult Bible class at his church in 2008-2009, later reworking the lessons into book format.
"Confessing Jesus as Lord" will be used as a text in various courses at MBU, including New Testament Theology in the spring. It is available in the MBU bookstore and can also be ordered online through websites such as www.amazon.com, www.barnesandnoble.com, and www.christianbook.com.
In his 24th year at Missouri Baptist University, Chrisope teaches Bible and history courses at the undergraduate level as well as the graduate level for the Master of Arts in Christian Ministry program. He is also the author of "Toward a Sure Faith" published by Christian Focus Publications of Scotland in 2000.
Chrisope holds a Bachelor of Arts from Central Baptist College, a Master of Divinity and Master of Theology, both from Covenant Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. from Kansas State University.
