Nighttime Lane Restrictions to Impact Traffic on Turnpike's Northeastern Extension near Lansdale
Roadwork to be performed next week where Morris Road crosses I-476 in Montgomery County
KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (01/21/2011)(readMedia)-- The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists traveling on the Northeastern Extension of the PA Turnpike, between the Mid-County (Exit #20) and Lansdale (Exit #31) Interchange, to be prepared for overnight bi-directional single-lane closures to go into effect Tuesday – Thursday (Jan. 25-27) southbound at 8 p.m. and northbound at 9 p.m. until the patterns are lifted the following morning.
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights (Jan. 25, 26 and 27), the contractor will establish single lane patterns, closing the right-lane southbound from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. and northbound at 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. The traffic restrictions allow the contractor to continue work on Turnpike mainline where the new Morris Road Bridge crosses the Turnpike at milepost A27.2 in Upper Gwynedd and Worcester Townships.
Between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. motorists traveling northbound and southbound between Mid-County and the Lansdale exit should be prepared for slow moving or stopped traffic when approaching the construction zone located between milepost A26-A28. Reduced speeds (55/40 mph) are posted and PA State Police will enforce the speed limits, and fines will be increased, in the construction zone. All work is weather permitting and could be rescheduled.
