LAKE FOREST, IL (11/18/2011)(readMedia)-- Mahir Mameledzija (Bosnia-Herzegovina/Niles West), a sophomore forward on the Lake Forest College men's soccer team, was named the Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year, the conference announced on Thursday.

Mameledzija ranked second in the conference with 13 goals and 32 points and tied-for-third with six assists. He posted the same numbers as a freshman and is already ninth in program history with 26 career goals and tied-for-ninth with 64 points. He was also a First Team All-MWC selection in 2010.

Lake Forest posted a 13-3-3 overall record in 2011 and tied for fourth in the conference standings with a league mark of 5-2-2. The Foresters returned to the four-team MWC Tournament for the first time since 2005. That season was also the last time the team had four all-conference honorees.
