O'Connell Senior Nicole Tuason of McLean Participates in Summer Law Program
ARLINGTON, VA (09/10/2012)(readMedia)-- Bishop O'Connell High School senior Nicole Tuason took some time out of her last high school summer break to participate in an intensive career exploration and leadership program offered through LeadAmerica.
Tuason traveled to Palo Alto, Calif. to attend a Law & Justice Conference at Stanford University. She took part in a law discussion panel with a variety of judicial officials from a U.S. Federal Courthouse in San Francisco after attending a courthouse briefing about the judicial system. Tuason was also able to apply the knowledge and skills learned at the conference in a simulated mock trial at the San Francisco Superior Courthouse later in the week.
This two-week experience exposed participants to many of the fundamentals legal skills such as legal rhetoric, witness preparation and testimony, evidence interpretation and presentation, and courtroom decorum that are required of today's attorneys. Tuason received college credit for her participation in this program.
