Over 115 Northeast Mississippi Community College students were inducted into the college's Iota Zeta chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society during the organization's fall induction on Monday, October 4.
Northeast's induction ceremony was held in the Claude Wright Room of the Haney Union on the Booneville-campus but due to COVID protocols, no outside guests were allowed at the event. For those who wish to see the event, it has been archived at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbl-nfTk-Rk
Each new member recited the chapter's pledge under the guidance of the Iota Zeta chapter president Phillip Henson, signed the Book of Oath and was awarded a certificate of membership.
Mississippi State University president and Northeast Mississippi Community College alum Dr. Mark Keenum served as the keynote address for the event and spoke through a pre-recorded video. Katy Tucker, the recruitment coordinator for Mississippi State University, was on hand to answer any questions and inform students about transfer opportunities throughout the state.
