Overnight Pa. Turnpike Traffic Stoppages Planned Between Butler Valley and Warrendale Plaza
Westbound stoppages next week are needed for replacement of two at-grade Turnpike bridges.
NEW STANTON, PA (05/13/2011)(readMedia)-- Drivers using the Pennsylvania Turnpike between Butler Valley (#39) and Warrendale (#30) will encounter 20-minute stoppages starting at 10 p.m. May 17 through 6 a.m. May 18 and again from 10 p.m. May 19 through 6 a.m. May 20 for bridge work at milepost 31.55 and 33.57.
Intermittent stoppages of all westbound traffic are planned May 17-18 while crews set concrete beams for a new bridge at milepost 31.5 which carries Turnpike traffic over Bakerstown-Warrendale Road in Pine Township. Stoppages May 19-20 will be for work at milepost 33.57 while crews set concrete beams for a new bridge that will carry Turnpike traffic over Pearce Mill Road in Pine Township. During these stoppages, the two local roads under the Turnpike will also see brief stoppages.
Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions and other circumstances.
The work is part of a $113 million reconstruction and six-lane widening project from milepost 31-38 that was begun in mid-2009 and is expected to be completed by the fall 2012.
