Overnight Traffic Restrictions to Impact Motorists on I-76 in Chester County

Work on new overhead bridge at milepost 315.8 requires overnight lane closures.

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (07/25/2010)(readMedia)-- The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists traveling on the PA Turnpike (I-76) between the Downingtown (Exit #312) and Valley Forge (Exit #326) Interchange to be prepared for nighttime bi-directional single-lane closures scheduled to be in effect Monday, July 26 through Friday, July 30 between milepost 312-319 in Charlestown Township, Chester County.

The right-lane will be closed overnight Monday through Thursday (7/26 -29) from 8 p.m. – 5 a.m. eastbound and 8 p.m. – 6 a.m. westbound the following morning and Friday night (7/30) eastbound from 9 p.m. – 8 a.m. and westbound 9 p.m. – 7 a.m. Saturday morning (7/31).

The general contractor, Nyleve Construction, will be installing overhang brackets and under deck shielding on the new bridge that carries Bodine Road across the Turnpike at milepost 315.8 between the Downingtown and Valley Forge exits.

Motorists should stay alert for slow moving or stopped traffic when approaching the work zone. The contractor's schedule is dependent on the weather and subject to change.
