PA Turnpike Travel Update for Motorists in SE PA
The weather emergency and speed limit restrictions have been lifted.
KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (12/28/2010)(readMedia)-- The Pennsylvania Turnpike announced that the weather emergency and speed limit restrictions have been lifted on the PA Turnpike and Northeastern Extension. Travel restrictions in place since Sunday evening, Dec. 26 between Downingtown #312 and the Delaware River Bridge #359 on Interstates 76 and 276, and between Mid-County #20 and Clarks Summit #131 on Interstate 476 were lifted at 7:15 a.m. today (Dec. 28).
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and State Police caution motorists to continue to stay alert for slower than normal traffic and Turnpike crews treating the roadways and interchange ramps. Motorists are urged to obey the speed limits, watch for ice and drifting snow and allow plenty of space when driving near Turnpike maintenance vehicles.
