A message from the NYS Higher Education Services Corporation:
The new NYHELPs student loans are now available for New York State students attending certain in-state institutions, who still have outstanding college expenses for the coming spring term. Students enrolled at least half time at any one of the 51 participating State colleges and universities may borrow up to $10,000 for the spring 2010 term at low-cost fixed rates of 7.55 percent, 8.25 percent, or 8.75 percent, depending on the repayment option selected. To protect against over-borrowing, students should always consider grants, scholarships and federal loans for which they qualify before applying for a NYHELPs loan.
Go to HESC.org/NYHELPs and find out how you may be able borrow up to $10,000 for the spring 2010 term.
